Contact Surface

Governing Equations: Please refer to the PERFORM solver documentation for details

  • Numerical setup:

    • Either single (Ns = 1) or two species (Ns = 2) and no reaction

    • Molecular weight: MW = 21.32 g/mol

    • Properties of species - Calorically Perfect Gas (details here)

      • For single species, properties of reactant is used

      • For two species, both properties of reactant and product are used

  • Initial conditions:

    • Single Species

      • x < 0.001 m: (TL, uL, pL) = (300 K, uIC, 1.0 MPa)

      • x >= 0.001 m: (TR, uR, pR) = (2494 K, uIC, 1.0 MPa)

    • Two Species

      • x < 0.001 m: (TL, uL, pL, YL) = (300 K, uIC, 1.0 MPa, 1.0)

      • x >= 0.001 m: (TR, uR, pR, YR) = (2494 K, uIC, 1.0 MPa, 0.0)

    • uIC can be a user-specified constant or a specified distribution to generate 1D synthetic turbulence (details in the code setup)

  • Boundary conditions:

    • Non-Reflecting Upstream and Downstream

    • Suggested downstream perturbation:

      • Forcing frequencies: 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 kHz

      • Forcing amplitudes: 5, 10, 15, 20%
